Independent – Single Server COAST3

The acquisition of our own server and associated IT infrastructure represents a strategic investment for our national research project COAST3 . It lays the foundation for powerful, secure and long-term controllable data processing, which is often a key prerequisite for modern research. Our clients in the terminal and depot infrastructure sector, as well as their freight forwarding users, will now have access to individual, highly available resources.

Having your own server allows you to efficiently store, analyse and archive large amounts of data. Especially when it comes to sensitive research data, a locally operated infrastructure offers a high degree of data sovereignty and enables compliance with national and institutional data protection and security requirements. At the same time, computing power and storage capacities can be tailored to the specific needs of the project.

Zur Serveranschaffung gehört jedoch mehr als nur die Hardware selbst. Notwendig sind auch eine stabile Netzwerkinfrastruktur, zuverlässige Stromversorgung, Backup- und Redundanzkonzepte sowie geeignete Klimatisierung.
