The GeoCoding+ module checks the addresses specified in the intermodal orders using various methodologies. The service determines uniform codifications for the respective addresses and returns these to the requesting party via an API call. In this way, addresses are basically checked in terms of content, enriched with information and integrated into the booking process in a standardized manner. The address data volume of the users is significantly reduced to a minimum across providers.
The initial situation is that each company communicates in its orders addresses of the involved parties. Each client passes on an address to the contractor in its own form and content. If the companies are active across countries, the variance in traceability and correctness increases many times over. Nowadays, however, an order address means more when it comes to scheduling and invoicing. Routines, rules and special features that must be taken into account are often associated with these addresses.
4PL Intermodal therefore set itself the task of solving precisely this tricky and momentous task for the benefit of its clients. The motivation to be able to generate only one from different notations was the initial situation. The address code had to be integrated into the booking, so that the subsequent systems could use it unconventionally, responsibly and based on this service to meet their requirements.
The service is permanently accessible as an API and can be used independently of IMSLOT. We have come a big step closer to the goal of uniform and standardized address communication with the GeoCoding+ module.
